PRESENTATION
Task Overview
Your team have been taken on as business consultants by Norling PLC, an investment company who are assessing whether to invest in the creation of anew "E-Sports Team" based in the United Kingdom.
Norling PLC area company who believe that E-Sports may provide a lucrative investment opportunity. They have previously invested in a successful company that designs app-games for mobile phones and an unsuccessful social media site. They have an interest in products and business ventures involving new technology and in particular want to target the youth market.
Norling PLC is owned by two siblings, Jim Norling and Sarah Norling. Jim believes that E-Sports represent a lucrative business opportunity. Sarah is not convinced that there is real business potential and believes that E-Sports will be a passing fad. She would prefer to continue investing into the safer mobile app market.
Jim and Sarah have asked your team to deliver a presentation that explains and outlines what E-Sports are. They have potential start-up capital of £370,000 set aside for their next project.
Task Outline
You will work as part of a group of 4.
Your group must deliver a presentation no longer than 20 minutes duration (including some time for questions) that must address all of the following points:
- What are E-Sports?
- What is the international picture of the industry like?
- What are the money making opportunities like in relation to the creation of an E-Sports team?
- What are the potential costs involved in creating a team?
- What are the potential risks of investing in this type of opportunity?
- Do you advise on investing in the creation of a team? If so, you will need to give details of the type of team that should be created and reasons why. If not, then you must give a valid explanation of your reasoning.
Research
• You must research the topic using online resources. Due to the nature of the task, only online resources will be applicable and use of academic texts are not required for this element of assessment.
• It is expected that you will be able to give real case study examples of existing companies and demonstrate which brands and businesses are currently making money in the industry.
Analysis
• You are required to think critically about aspects of the potential investment and identify the strengths and risks involved.
• You must give convincing reasons as to whether or not to invest in the business, which take into account the profile of the potential investors.
• You must use figures and financial data to support the conclusions that you reach.
Giving the presentation
Refer back to the relevant lecture but things to remember include;
• Decide what you will say before the presentation
• Produce your PowerPoint slides
• Submit your slides on time to your group members
• Practice speaking your slides out loud
• Practice some more
• Remember to speak slowly and clearly
• You may use a microphone if you wish on the day, and
• Practice some more
Mostly they have to touch everything they ask on the papers.
They ask for facts and figures, for picture to where apply, and so on. If they read the assignment properly they will then know what and how to do it.
In the presentation i need around 10 slides, each slide to be explained but in few words. Then e.g.for "what is e-sports" they could give a short definition along with a simple picture maybe with an arena and in the short definition don't explain to much just punch it where it hurts most, if you understand what i mean.
For 500 words (more or less) you can not explain to much for one slide and mostly nothing for the other. I am sure your writing department knows it better . They are professionals right?
So , basically if they read each paper i sent , will find out everything what is need to be written.
