Discussion Post: Starbucks
As mentioned in the video, Starbucks is dedicated to finding and working with suppliers/vendors who employ sustainable practices. This is where the supply chain aspect of the distribution discussion comes into play. In other words, if Starbucks is looking for a new supplier, how will they assess the environmental and social practices of the suppliers they are considering?
Class, what are your thoughts on the importance of sustainability and/or social responsibility when outsourcing? Should suppliers with proven green practices be put higher on the "short list" than those without?
