Assignment Title - Research Proposal- Preparing for a Business Research Project

This research proposal and the main assessment are based upon the Pearson prescribed theme and topic in the area of Globalisation with the following Topic:

"What are the positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation on different business functions (e.g. operations, marketing, HR, accounting) within organisations?"

This is an assignment - supported by meetings with tutor if required. This task is integrated with and forms the basis of assessment 1. It is imperative that the student has a meaningful and manageable basis for the assessment 1. The rationale for this task is threefold. Firstly, it is to allow the student to demonstrate a complete understanding of business projects and business research. Secondly, to make certain the student understands the impact of globalisation in business and business environment. Lastly, it is to allow the student to prepare a sound basis for assessment a by producing a plan that is realistic and achievable within the time frame available and that will produce a suitable platform for the successful completion of the learning outcomes in assessment 1.

Research Proposal-Learning outcome LO 1

Using the topic of "What are the positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation on different business functions (e.g. operations, marketing, HR, accounting) within organisations?", devise a research project that is achievable in the time frame available and that is related to the topic. This can be a business you are familiar with or one you have no connection with. Discuss the project management processes and methodologies that you are planning to use. Further enhance this work with aims and objectives. Pay particular attention to the development of a project management plan covering aspects of cost, scope, time, quality, communication, risk and resources. The project management plan should be followed by a relevant Gantt chart. There will be opportunities scheduled for you to organise individual tutorials with your tutor to check your work is progressing correctly.

In order for you to complete this unit you will have to write a research proposal and a research project. First, you need to write and submit a research proposal which needs to be approved by your tutor. Upon approval you are then allowed to work on completing the research project. The approval received by your tutor needs to be recorded in the logbook provided with assignment brief. You then will submit the research proposal and the research project together on the agreed deadline. Your research proposal should be presented following this structure:

Gantt Chart
The submission is in the form of an individual written report. This should be written in concise, formal business style using single spacing and font size 12. You are required to make use of headings, paragraphs and subsections as appropriate. All work must be supported by research and properly referenced using Harvard Referencing System. A reference page must be added using the Harvard Referencing Style. The recommended word limit is 800 - 1,200.
