Suggest a web-based recommendation system for electric cars?

This could be developed in PHP with a back-end database in MySQL, to store details of electric cars that are on the market, so they can be compared by price or user ratings, and by other features such as emissions or efficiency, charging time etc, and possibly even other aspects which will affect the ethics of the product such as country of manufacture, materials used in seats etc.

The environmental impact of electric cars will also depend on the energy sources used for electricity, and this varies by geographic area (some will use natural gas, some use nuclear power, some use solar/wind power etc.).

So if the application was also able to allow the user to enter their location, the app could indicate the environmental impact of the cars to the user.

The Google Maps API could be used to allow the user to locate their nearest charging point for an electric car. The implications of electric cars on people's lifestyles could then also be considered in your literature review for your dissertation.

How does this sound to you? At this stage you just need to focus on producing a feasible project proposal - some details can be determined or changed in development.
