Learning outcomes - Upon successful completion of this module, students will have demonstrated:

Skills -
1. An understanding, explanation and critical evaluation of how an employee's performance is measured and the impact of individuals and groups on business performance.
2. Critical analysis of line managers' roles and responsibilities especially with regard to the management and leadership of employees.
3. Analysis of a line managers' role and responsibilities, the corporate strategy and Human Resource plans and processes to effectively integrate the organisation's interests.
4. Critical evaluation of the strategic and business-related benefits to be gained from an engaged workforce.
5. The skills necessary to assemble and apply analytical tools to identify and expedite remedial action, performance improvement and transformational change to promote corporate excellence.
Assessment - Produce a 4000 word report in which you critically analyse the role of Line Manager/Leader and their relationship with the HR representative in the management of people in organisations today.
You must make significant reference to appropriate literature and best practice.
To do this, you should pick one of the topics from across the module curriculum i.e.

- Identify and evaluate the relationship between the line manager/leaders role and that of the HR representative in the management of people (inc. such as benefits, limitations, clarity, overlaps, tensions, devolvement etc).
