Course Description:

This introduces contemporary security problems and the techniques that can be applied to overcome them. Focus is given to security of information that is stored in files or in databases.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

1. Identify contemporary threats to information security

2. Identify contemporary solutions to information security (tools and techniques)

3. Prevent and mitigate the threats to information security.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Propose solution of preventing and mitigating the threats to information security

2. Apply contemporary solutions to the threats to information security.
