DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Course Description
This course introduces the student to the basic theoretical and practical concepts of a database, its setup, implementation, use and maintenance in a typical business organization. The course consists of two parts:
Part I, which is purely theoretical and Part II, which is practical.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, the student should be:
• Familiarized with the basic concepts of database systems and data modeling.
• Able to develop relational databases that are secure.
• Able to formulate queries in databases and to use at least one DBMS.
• Able to import and export data to and from different applications.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
