Assignment - Project Proposal
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
This assignment constitutes the first component required for meeting the criteria for the award of a BSc (Hons) Degree and as such is an important piece of work. You must prepare a project proposal outlining the project and time schedule. The project is YOUR piece of work, you must decide on the topic for research; there are no lectures to support your work, however, a series of presentations will be given to help you structure your work, manage your time and manage your project. You are allocated four hours per week when you can meet with tutors. Time will be allocated to meet in order to practice the "Action Learning" concept.
You will be allocated a personal tutor or learning advisor, whose role is to monitor your progress, facilitate your learning needs and provide the necessary guidance for completing the project report.
You will find that you have considerable autonomy and may find that you need to attend conferences, shows or make visits; your personal tutor is there to help you to organise this. Remember you must have an accurate plan or strategy, which allows plenty of time for your tutor to make any necessary arrangements.
You will need to decide what your project is to be. This must meet the academic rigor required for an Honours Degree and the title must be approved by the module tutor. It may be necessary to present this proposal to the "Ethics Committee" in order for the "go-ahead" to be formalised.
Assignment - Project Report
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
This assignment constitutes the major component required for meeting the criteria for the award of a BSc (Hons) Degree and as such is an important piece of work. In order to completed the project you will need to carryout extensive and specific research in order to collate sufficient data to bring together enough information to satisfy the academic level required for an Honours Degree.
Throughout the year and on a weekly basis you will be required to update the team on your progress, problems and challenges experienced and how or if you resolved any issues. Remember this is your project and you will experience challenges and difficulties along with everyone else, so "pooled" problems often result in solutions; meaning that your problem may have already been resolved by another team member.
ASSIGNMENT TASK
Write a Project Report; which is the main document for this module. This must be presented as a bound hard copy. Two copies are required. The final report should be 7000 words in length plus or minus 10% (excluding appendices, references etc.). The structure of this document will be detailed in a formal presentation during the second semester.
