2. Be able to utilise both traditional and non-traditional media methods as part of a marketing strategy
3. Formulate a long term marketing strategy
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
Motorsport is a dynamic sport that relies heavily on video to help to promote itself and its sponsors. The Myerscough College Motorsport Higher Education courses have excellent links with the industry. This assignment requires research into appropriate video promotional methods for the courses.
REQUIRED
Create a plan for a short video (5 minutes +/- 1 min) to promote Myerscough College Motorsport Foundation (FdSc) and Honours (BSc) Degree courses.
In planning the video and its content, consider elements such as:
• raising awareness of the Myerscough College Motorsport courses
• driving traffic to a website/specific destination
• differentiating Myerscough College's Motorsport courses from their competitors
• motivating potential students
• influencing key decision-makers in the motorsport industry
The plan must include:
• scripting including narration / interviews
• storyboarding
• consideration made to continuity
• consideration made to location
• Competition Car Technology & Management & Logistics course options
• workshop elements
• race team elements
• rally team elements
The report must not be a simple statement of recommendations. The report MUST indicate the options considered, the recommendation made and most importantly the reasons for choosing this option against the others. All decisions should be supported by researched and properly referenced facts. The prime purpose of the report is to demonstrate your ability to analyse and make decisions based upon information not your ability to present knowledge.
