INFORMATION SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Course Description:
The module will define the principles of implementing successful Information systems projects. Various aspects will be considered including Costing, budgeting, risk management, human resource change management and scheduling as critical factors to the success of projects
Course Objectives:
The Course aims to provide students with understanding and skills on;
• Information systems project planning, scheduling and control
• Time, cost and quality management to avoid the “run-away” projects
• Building and leading multi-disciplinary and effective teams
• Risk and change management,
• project monitoring
Expected course outcomes:
By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
• Understand project management concepts and roles through all IS projects.
• Undertake the management of an IS project and see it to a satisfactory conclusion on time and within budget.
• Integrate the concepts of risk and change management in IS project management
• Demonstrate the ability to use project monitoring tools and techniques to ensure successful project implementation.
