1. Use a spreadsheet to enter, edit and organise numerical and other data.

Scenario.

You work in customer services at hotel in the Lake District.

Your manager has sent you the results from the customer feedback forms from last month. She wants to compare the grades between the departments.

Task 1.

• Transfer this data onto a spreadsheet.

• Sort departments into alphabetical order

• Adjust cells so all text can be read.

• Add borders to all data.

• Save the spreadsheet as ‘April Customer Feedback’

• Paste a screen shot to show the folder you have created and the content.

Task 2

You will need to select and use appropriate formulas and data analysis tools this will help you compare the performance of the departments and indentify where improvements are needed.

• Add a row to your table. Title it “Averages”.

• Create a formula to calculate the average grade of each column.

• Add a column at the end of the table and title it “Needs improvements”.

• The manager has set a target of 7 and above in Excellent for each department. Use a function to show target met or needs improvement in the grade is below 7.

• Add a filter to the table

Task 3

Your manager wants to use your table in a presentation to all departments.

• Explain what you could do to the table to make it look professional and how you would make relevant information stand out.

• Now make these changes to the table.

• Create an appropriate chart or Graph to how comparisons of department grades in “Excellent”. Then save this on a separate sheet and Name the sheet “Chart”

• Set the Page with the Chart on to Landscape and page with Graph to Landscape.

• Format the Chart and make sure there are no mistakes.

1. Go to "Home" tab

2. Click "Find & Select"

3. Click "Go to Special..."

4. Click "Formulas"

5. Enable "Errors"

1. Always try to recover it from a backup or a previous working revision - Even though it means thatyou may lose some current data, you get the file back with the data that is accurate.
