Governance and Corporate Responsibility Individual Assignment

Choose an industry or economic sector and write a paper on the industry sector's CSR efforts. You will be required to describe the CSR efforts, analyse and/or benchmark by reference to an appropriate framework and make recommendations for improvements.
The students will choose among one of the three following topics:

• What distinguishes the leaders from the laggards in the field of corporate governance (and who are they)? Discuss by providing relevant examples.

• What are the voluntary CSR-related sector initiatives and how effective have they been in bringing about change? Discuss by providing relevant examples.

• What is the role of national and international institutions in promoting sustainable development? Discuss by providing relevant examples.
