Assessment Task
Task
Provide a report* which critically explores and analyses the context of OD and explain how OD is an effective tool for internal transformation of organisations to support business development.
You will need to consider the following points:
Question 1. Why is OD important for organisations in a business world that is constantly subject to change?
Question 2. What are the changes in the external environment which are relevant to business development? You need to explain your selection and rationale. It is not enough to identify a list of changes.
Question 3. How does change happen within organisations?
Question 4. What needs to be changed and why?
Question 5. What is the evidence that supports best practice in terms of case studies, academic research and personal experience?
The report needs to cover the main learning from this unit.
You are strongly advised to support the analysis within your work with reference to literature and links to organisational examples and context using HARVARD referencing. To be able to do justice to this assignment you will have to read and research extensively. This is master's level work. Simply describing and retelling will not produce work at the required level. You are strongly advised to take advantage of the wide ranging electronic journals available via the library.
The finished piece of work (and therefore your mark) will reflect the reading and research you put into this piece of work. The sooner you start reading and researching the more likelihood there is of a successful report (and mark).
Be mindful of the attached assessment criteria (marking grid) as you write and check your work against it before you submit your work.
The format of the assessment is a report and should include:
1. Title page
2. Abstract/Executive Summary
3. Table of contents
4. Introduction
5. Discussion - to cover all parts of the remit
6. Conclusions
7. Recommendations
8. Bibliography
