Outline: Effective communication in business is fundamental to business growth and management. This module will enable you develop communication skills and understand theories of communication that will help you engage with your audience and establish direct and meaningful communication about yourself, your business and or your product.

By the end of this module, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of components of communication skills and translate communication knowledge and your ideas into effective business communication practices. You will be able to categorise different forms of communication and learn how they can be used to inform and enable businesses achieve their primary goals and objectives.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK - WHAT YOU ARE BEING ASKED TO DO?

Each student will be required to prepare and deliver a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation in class to peer students and tutors. The presentation development is divided into the following two tasks:

Task 1: Conduct research and prepare 6 slides on one of the following topics (1000 words in notes): 1.1 Business communication during a global pandemic and the potential issues.

1.2 Communicating with employees about significant company changes.

1.3 Negotiating an international and cross-cultural IT business deal.

1.4 Ethical issues in business communication.
