Activity 1 Below are the some of the guidelines that you should follow when creating the guide.
Guide
The guide must be created in a word document and you must explain the purpose of the guide to your audience. The purpose must be around 150-200 words. Then you must explain each of the following points mentioned in the question, to your audience.
• An analysis of the most significant developments in IT over this time: Example:
As far as this point is concern you need to include the significant examples from the real world that has happened over the last 50 years and then compare them. For instance you need to show in your guide, how major technological changes like Internet, social media, robotics have changed the way we live today compared to what it was 50 years ago. Include pictures and/or graphics where possible.
• An evaluation of how IT has changed society in this time period: Example:
With this point you need to include with appropriate examples of how the society across the globe has changed with the invention of new technology over the last decade. You must state in your answer the pros and cons with the invention of technology on the society as well as the how it has affected the way we live and socialise.
• An explanation of how IT has changed the way the people work this time: Example:
With this point you must include how IT has changed the way people work since the last 50 years with including case studies and real world examples and relevant images.
Finally your guide should conclude with the impact of individuals living in the information age with taking one or two relevant examples mentioned in the above points. In this section somewhere along the line you need to define what information age is clearly to your audience as well.
Presentation
Presentation should summarise what you have written for your above points, in point form by including some graphics or images that you have put on the guide. It should not be too lengthy .
Activity 2
You should compile a news article. You must consider using the following points which when producing a news article. However, it is not limited to the following and you may add your own. This must be in a form of a magazine style layout as you are presenting to new business owners.
I. Sentence to grab attention.
You must craft a sentence that grabs the reader's attention. In other words a headline with a bang that gets users attention on things related to digital age as well as the current issues in society related to personal data.
II. Introduction
Which facts and figures will ground your article? In other words, the introductory para should state in brief what your article is about, for instance the benefits that digital age has brought to the current society and the impact that it has had on the society.
It should also provide an overview of personal data and how it has had an impact on the society.
III. Main body
The main body should state the heart of the story which should be all about an unbiased view of the impact of digital society and then about the evaluation of current issues relating to personal data.
VI. Conclusion
This must sum your unbiased views expressed in the entire article and then you should consider giving some thoughts about what would be likely to happen in the future. That is, you must express your concerns if there is any and should provide something to think from users' perspective.
Activity 3
With this activity you need to produce a comprehensive report that addresses all the tasks mentioned in the question. It is advisable to have the report in the following format:
Title page
This must briefly describe the purpose of the report. Other details that you may include but not limited to are:
• Your name
• Date
• And for whom it is written for.
Terms of References
Under this section you may include a brief overview of who would read your report, why it was written (purpose) and how it was written (means and ways in which the data were collected).
This might be in a form of a subtitle or a single paragraph. Please refer to the example below.
This is only an example and you may write better than this.
Summary (Abstract)
Each report should have a summary also called an abstract, which describes your overall report in short and sweet manner. The sole purpose of this section is to inform your reader the main components of your report briefly. It should touch upon the key areas that you have covered in your report with brief overview. It should be 1/2 a page approximately and not more.
Table of contents
The table of contents should list the headings, sub-headings together with page numbers. When carrying this out you may refer to how the table of contents are being created in the course materials.
Introduction
The introduction lays the foundation for the main body text. So, in this section you need to state the aims and objectives of the report in detail. Which means in general, you need to describe how the research was conducted and your assessments.
Body
The body section contains the cream of your report. It should be divided into the following sub-headings.
First sub-section must contain the evaluation of current legal, ethical and regulatory issues with respect to IT. They should use some relevant examples to enhance their arguments.
The second sub-section must contain your assessment of the importance of ethical guidelines to an organisation that primarily uses IT.
The third sub-section must contain an evaluation of legal, ethical and regulatory issues related to a chosen organisation. You may not need to visit this organisation and you may do some research online when performing this task.
Conclusion
In the conclusion you should show the overall importance of your findings based on what you have covered. You may want to remind the reader of the most important points that have been made. For instance, in this case it would be about your findings relevant to evaluation. However, you should not introduce any new materials on the conclusion.
