ENTERPRISE DATA MANAGEMENT
Brief Course Description
This course introduces students to the concept of enterprise data management and identifies the software and hardware used in enterprise database management. The course shall emphasize the design, management and customization of enterprise database systems that can support information systems and their functions such as transaction processing and strategic decision making.
Course objectives
The objectives of this course are to,
• Introduce students to the concepts of enterprise data management within organization for both internal and external use
• Teach students how to create accurate, consistent and transparent data content
• Introduce students to business applications and how content is passed on from one process to another
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course the student should be able to,
• Define enterprise data management and difference to database management
• Explain how content can be passed to business processes and used in business applications
• Analyze data so as to evaluate its correctness for proper backup and recovery
