Assessment Title: Design a networked computer system
Assignment Brief:
You have been hired by Optinet Ltd to implement equipment installation plans based on the Network Administrator's specifications, maintain each component of the network and troubleshoot issues. You are responsible for monitoring the network firewall, assessing the functionality of the network routers, ensuring all Internet security software is updated regularly, developing and implementing company email policies in accordance with the IT Manager and maintaining the company phone system.
With the growth of the company, your IT manager has decided to review the network design according to the new requirements.
Each group have been assigned the task of designing, implementing a network infrastructure for Optinet Ltd by internetworking three departments which are as follows:

The IT Manager emphasised on scalability, availability and hence you are required to provide a complete network infrastructure design and implementation, the company will be using private IP address 192.168.20.0/24. Design a networked system to meet a given specification. Use packet tracer software to design your network.
1. Test and evaluate the design to meet the requirements and analyse user feedback. Install and configure network services and applications on your choice of simulator. Design a maintenance schedule to support the networked system.
2. After designing and installation of your network according to the given specifications, the next step would be the implementation stage. At this stage you may need to identify the cause of any problem on your designed network and find a possible solution. You would need to plan for an implementation scheme and therefore implement your network system based on a prepared design.
3. Usually, implementing a possible solution involves making changes to the network. Document and analyse test results against expected results. Recommend potential enhancements for the networked systems (with reference to the above scenario). And finally, use critical reflection to evaluate own work and justify valid conclusions.
4. Work effectively in groups of two or three; this will be reviewed in the group presentation.
