TASK
You are to write one essay/paper (3000 words) on the following question
Critically investigate the relationship between development and disasters using one of the following case studies:
Pakistan floods 2010
Discussion and reference to relevant theoretical frameworks should be included, as well as a clarification of definitions and terms of reference.
An evaluation of development in the area studied should form the background to the essay with an examination of the impact of the disaster on that development, and the long term outcomes.
In addition the impact of development on the disaster before and after the event should be considered if appropriate.
Elements such as disaster risk reduction, resilience, climate change and vulnerability should be examined and practical applications of conclusions presented.
Your essay should not exceed 3000 words, and must cite appropriate sources using the Harvard referencing method.
Use the CU Harvard reference style.

Introduction - 8% of the total word count-context of the problem, refer to question, and indication of where the essay will go

recommendations if appropriate (something like it would have changed the situation from getting git worse) 8% approx. word count for conclusion
