ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Individual Portfolio (3,000 words)
Question 1: Identify a multi-national organization. Investigate and critically analyse the strategy of the organization utilizing the range of strategy content including the nature of the organizational culture.
Question 2: Identify a significant event, challenge, transformation or merger/acquisition that affected the organization. Please make sure you take into consideration the current pandemic and other contemporary drivers of change.
Question 3: Analyse how the challenge was managed by the organization, with a focus on leadership, culture, and the human relations aspects of the context. Apply any theory, model of change or strategy as discussed in lecture and practiced in seminar and include the company's ‘competitive advantage' (John Kay, VRIO, etc).
Question 4: Discuss how the organization's strategy and/or change management impacted the management of the challenge. Furthermore, critically discuss the impact of the challenge on the organization's strategy. Some examples you might like to explore: Did policy change? HR? Technology? Communications? Logistics?
Question 5. Communicate effectively the strategic response of the organization to the external change or impact and add at least three (3) of your own recommendations.
Critical analysis of the strategy of the organization, applying theories and conceptual frameworks covered in the module
Critical application of leadership and management of change models/theories to analyze the context in question
Discussion and synthesis of the strategy and change aspects of the selected challenge; evidence of wider reading critically applied in your analyses

Investigate and critically analyse the strategy of the organization utilizing a range of strategy content shared in lecture. Ensure appropriate use of frameworks, models and theories discussed in class relevant to your topic. Feel free to include any you have discovered yourself independent of course materials.
Identify a significant event, challenge, transformation or merger/acquisition that affected the organization. Please make sure you take into consideration the current pandemic and other contemporary drivers of change.
Analyse how the challenge was managed by the organization, with a focus on:
-Leadership Capabilities
-Communications
-Organisational culture (analysis of current culture and evaluation of any changes due to your identified ‘impact' or event).
Critically discuss the impact of the challenge on the organization's strategy (ie: were policies and procedures changed or implemented (if applicable), were new measures of retention, communications, technology, marketing, HR practices put into place?)
Include your three (3) recommendations as to how a new strategy or concept would have worked better than the existing one, or how you would direct the organization to implement an alternative strategic resolution.
Conclusion - slightly less formal. Does not have to be long
