Undertake a building survey and propose repair, refurbishment and re-use solution to match the client's
Investigate and diagnose building defects; and establish a building's overall state of repair and prepare schedules of condition and dilapidations
Understand and apply the fundamentals of building control legislation;
Appraise the condition, form and function of buildings in relation to their setting using a variety of building appraisal techniques;
ASSIGNMENT TASK:
You are required to carry out a condition survey of a residential dwelling located within London and its environs built within the last century worthy of being surveyed.
Coverage
The exercise should cover the following, as a minimum and a guide only:
• Internal and external surveys with a comprehensive list of necessary repairs specified and justified.
• The condition should be rated along with the priority of repairs as recommended.
• The necessary repairs should be costed using appropriate tools/sources.
• Suggest sustainable improvements and ability to extend and/or refurbish.
• Please include annotated photographs and sketches.
