Overview: You are required to produce an individual reflective writing piece that focuses on (1) assessing your awareness of ethical principles and issues in the business and tourism workplace and (2) identifying actions to be taken that will lead to ethical practices through continuing professional development plan (e-portfolio) for the nearest future.

The assignment will substantially develop the following parts:

Introduction: where the student provides an overview of the reflective essay task and components of the CPD plan.
Briefly introduces the topic of business ethics and ethical principles specific to tourism workplace.
Read the given case in the assignment brief and identify the ethical issues in connection with the case. Then, you must link the issue to the relevant Article(s) of the World Committee on Tourism/the Global Code of ethics for Tourism including the relevant UK legislation(s).
Reflect on their current knowledge of business ethics, professional code of conduct and ethical principles in the workplace to address their feelings regarding the given case and its ethical issues.
Reflection on their current understanding to identify and discuss three (3) transferable skills and knowledge they would need to address the ethical situation at hand.

Create a CPD plan with three (3) goals. For each goal the student will identify three skills, knowledge and experiences they need to develop and specific activities they will undertake to achieve each goal. You will be supported during the lectures up to Week 4 to complete the assignment and the action plan. You can access the supporting materials folder on Moodle to create the CPD plan.

Introduction (150 words):
Provides an overview of the reflective essay task and components of the CPD plan.

Description of Case (250 words):
Identify the ethical issues in connection with the case. Then, link the issue to the relevant Article(s) of the United Nation's World Committee on Tourism/the Global Code of ethics for Tourism including the relevant UK legislation(s).
Reflection of Learning (250 words):
Reflect on your current knowledge and understanding of business ethics, professional code of conduct and ethical principles in the workplace to address your feelings regarding the given case and its ethical issues.

Skills for Action (250 words):
Reflection on their current knowledge and understanding to identify and discuss three (3) transferable skills and knowledge they would need to address the ethical situation at hand.
Action (e-portfolio) (500 words):
Create three S.M.A.R.T. goals for your CPD plan. For each goal, identify three skills (as above), knowledge, and experiences you need to develop for a future role in the tourism workplace. State the specific activities you will undertake to achieve each goal, drawing on examples discussed in the lecture up to Week 4 to ensure each target meets the criteria of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).

Conclusion (100 words):
Summarize the key points discussed in the reflective essay and CPD plan.
Reflect on the importance of continuous learning and development in the context of ethical and sustainable business practices.
