Individual Research Project Assignment -

Assessment Task - You are required to produce an original piece of research in an appropriate business or organizational topic consistent with your course of study. The word limit is 8,000 words.

You must choose one of the following types of research for your work:

1) A structured literature review

2) An analysis of secondary data

a) A study based on primary data collection

Each of these approaches to research have different requirements. The approach taken will depend on the type of research you wish to do, and on the subject you wish to explore. On completion of this module, students will need to demonstrate:

1. Critically appraise scholarship in the field of their degree award

2. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of research methods

3. Evaluate principles of ethics, sustainability and responsibility in the context of their own work and justify the approach adopted

4. Act autonomously to conceptualise and conduct an independent piece of research

5. Present research findings

6. Communicate research appropriately using academic conventions of academic research reporting
