Assignment Title - Operational Amplifiers

1. Non-Inverting OpAmp

Procedure -

1. Add the "ua741" component from the "eval" library. Right click the opamp and "Mirror vertically" as seen in Figure 1.

2. Add two "Vdc" sources of +15 and -15 volts. Add the ports to these dc voltage sources as shown in Figure 2. Rename them as Vcc and Vee respectively.

3. Copy and Paste these ports onto terminals 7 and 4 on the opamp respectively.

4. Connect the input and feedback resistors as shown in Figure 1. Use the "Vsin" source for input signal and use an output resistor of 1kOhms at terminal 6. (output can be drawn without the output resistance, in which case the output resistance would be considered to be of infinite resistance)

5. Open a new simulation profile and run "Time Domain" analysis with the following parameters:

(Simulation settings -> Time Domain -> Run to Time = 50ms, Maximum step-size = 10u)

6. Insert single voltage probes at the input and output terminals. Run the simulation and capture the waveforms for your logbook.

7. Change the voltage source to "Vac" with 1Vac and 0Vdc

8. Open a new simulation profile and run "AC Sweep" analysis with the following parameters:

(Simulation settings-> AC sweep -> logarithmic ->from 100Hz to 100kHz, point/decade =1000)

9. Plot the frequency response in decibels and calculate the cut-off frequency.

2. Inverting OpAmp

Repeat the same procedure as for the non-inverting amplifier and get the output waveforms for the case of "Vsin" as the input signal and the frequency response for the case when the input signal is "Vac".
