Financial Statement Analysis

Working alone or in a small group (maximum of 3 in a group), you are required to complete the following assignment.

Select a firm that is listed in the UK and a competitor that is also listed in the same sector in the UK 9not Financial Services sector. Using financial information from THOMSON:

- prepare an analysis of the profitability of the two firms for the past four or more years in the context of their sector of operations.
- you will also need to select a further 3 firms from that sector listed in the UK, in order to look at the sector itself.

The assignment will be looked at in a lecture and will be followed by a computer-based training workshop. Workshop times have been arranged and all group members should attend.

All group members should contribute to the assignment, which should be in the format of a report, with a maximum of 20 pages.
