Assignment Brief:
This assignment is to prepare a report in which each team will analyze the Voice of the Customer and the current configuration of an existing branded product of your choice to understand how quality and reliability can be improved. With this you are to prepare a professional report which will include the following 4 Parts:
Part 1
You are required to develop an analysis of the Voice of "Customer" regarding the product your group has selected and that has been approved. The analysis needs to be complete and results must be explained.
Once the relevant information has been identified, you are required to adequately translated the VOC wishes and desires into a formal engineering language using the QFD to ensure the design of a product that will satisfy the customer requests and desired quality.
Part 2
Justify and discuss 3 design choices made comparing your planned design with the one of the competitors explaining the advantages and disadvantages related to the design choice.
Part 3
Use the FMEA - Failure Mode and Effect Analysis to identify whether the product you selected is likely to fail and to assess the relative impact of different failures.
Then, discuss 2 Failure Modes and the associated corrective actions that should be considered to improve the product reliability and prevent any interruption.
Part 4
Considering the outcomes of the previous analysis, provide your suggestions for improving the product design to improve both its quality and reliability.
Needed outcome
1: Explain all that has been considered in FMEA model
2: Select two highest RPN functions and discuss on it, with detail about severity detection and occurance and then explain how to avoid it in our design (FOSSIL HYBRID WATCH).
- And then its conclusion, with the above outcomes. the conclusion must be required.
